Nope, doesnt make any sense at all, unless you plan on including straight people and then you would have to change it to H U M A N

I think someone made this point earlier but maybe a little brutally. The point is we are in an increasingly 'labelist' society where it seems everyone wants a unique label to describe how or who they are. They might appear to be one thing, but they aren't but neither are they they other. They are their own unique label. Which then goes onto to say how really labels are inadequate in the first place! My point is already within the LGBT labels people say I need to have more in common with people then my sexuality and then if someone is male to male gay why should they be labelled with a femal to female, a transgender and so on.

So whilst I am all for inclusion, where do you draw that line and then start becoming something that really ceases to have a meaning because it is so wide ranging!

To me, asexual is different. LGBTA reminds me of the test question: Which item does not fit with the rest? To be asexual means one has no sexual desire. There's not discrimination against that. There are no laws against that. People won't even know about it unless you tell them and it doesn't affect anyone but yourself. All the rest are groups which are discriminated against due to their sexual orientation.

Asexuality doesn't work in a grouping with LGBT though, unless you take LGBT to mean 'anything that isn't straight'. Besides, if you add more letters, you end up needing to include pansexuality and so on as well... it gets a bit long and messy.

Well, perhaps. But asexual could just be indifferent to questions of sexuality altogether. I expect they may hang out in Religion & Spirituality. Come take a look and see if I'm right.

Asexual, as in abstinence from intercourse, or asexual as hypothetical lack of varying desire? Asexuality is not a true genuine state for most claiming such, though some do evidence a lack of otherwise regarded sexuality esp. relevant to heterosexuality.

Gosh I have a hard enough time not stumbling over the current list of letters.

I'm not sure why all of us are grouped together anyway. I'd prefer it if Ls, Gs, Bs, Ts and As all had their own sections, plus maybe a general "sexuality" section.

Oy, years ago we were all just people, on a little planet without labels and agendas.

Ok, sure, add the A.

Manbla?

Non-sexual beings?

Or maybe just People again?

:-)
