I said by plane because a friend of mine works in the gulf. Takes him about 4 hours by plane, 1 1/2 drive, then an hour by helicoptor.
6 1/2 hour commute, not counting layovers.

50-60 minutes

I drive 2 miles to a park-n-ride lot and then take a bus (about 40-45 miles) into the city. I don't mind it at all. The bus is much better than having to drive every day.

I measured it yesterday. It's .9 miles to work. I drive. I'd run or bike, but I don't want to go to work all sweaty and nasty.
