YES, YES and YES. Difficulties and poor communications about finances have ended thousands of marriages. You and your spouse need to be on the same page when it comes to financial priorities, etc.
This doesn't mean that you both have to think and act exactly the same way, but there need to be some ground rules and some decisions about what is important to the two of you. One of the real basics, what is your price limit for buying something without telling the other? Is it $100, $1000, more? Do you share the same views on home ownership, on college savings, on automobiles, etc.? If one or both of you are in financial trouble do you know the stress that it can add to a relationship?
So, yes, finance affects marriage! I didn't even speak to the costs and thoughts about the wedding itself!

Of course it does, because finances effect PEOPLE -whether you are married or not. Finances can be a very personal thing to some people and adding another person in which you must share not only information but actual dollars can be very hard for some people to adjust to.
It is possible for people to live in financial harmony, though. You just need to find out what works best for both of you. (Separate accounts etc.)
Also, you need to be sure you communicate about finances BEFORE you get married. It shouldn't be an after thought.
