I truly hope that the physical appearance of the candidates will not determine a voter's choice.
It's about ideas, people. Not race, not gender, not attractiveness... IDEAS! Ability to lead! Stick to the issues!

Studies have shown that appearances actually matter much more than policies. This is why I knew back in mid-2003 that John kerry would be the democratic nominee rather than Dean (who was killing everybody in the polls). Kerry just looked more like a President.
One study was done where they took voters and showed them videos of different candidates that they had never seen or heard of before. The candidates were shown giving a public speech, but the mute button was on so you couldn't hear a word they were saying. You could only judge them on their appearances. The voters were able to select with a solid majority which candidates won their elections and which candidates lost.
Then, they showed the voters the same videos but with the sound turned back on. Remarkably, they were LESS accurate at choosing the winners. This is because once they could hear what the candidates were saying, the Republican voters thought the guys spouting Republican ideas would win, while Democratic voters thought the guys spouting Democratic ideas would win.

I hope that people will take things more seriously considering the condition this country is in, as far as citizen togetherness, etc. and vote for something more than looks.

good looking? ok, I guess
but he's never going to win the south unless the previously unregistered voters get out and vote.
even then, I think his chances are slim and none.
and slim is heading towards the door.

The candidate with the lowest IQ will win, did so since 1900, its a fact. So my money would be on some Republican, the Democrats seem to have to high of an IQ for being seriously considered by the majority.
