There was an announcement today from C4 that Big Bros was coming off air - think at the end of this present run.

TV audiences are leaking away and seeking solace on the Internet. This is where the majority of us now have our fun, meet each other and try to answer difficult questions, or not.

The entire UK TV and broadcasting industry has now lost faith with the viewing and listening public. It needs to get it's act together.

In recent years there have been far too many 'gaffs', rigged phone-in competitions and heaven knows what else.

As a former employee in the broadcasting industry, I think they have entirely lost the plot and will not ever get back the trust in which the people held them.

The worst culprit in all of this is the blessed BBC, which as a senior and major world broadcaster had no excuse for what it did and made matters worse by trying to cover it all up. The Blue Peter phone-in competition 'fix' with 'fake' winners and staff members smoking pot and heaven knows what else.

Only the celebrity Big Bro has been axed because of the controversy last year.

While the show has as many viewers as it currently does they wont axe it.

I for one am pleased about that. There are loads of programmes I don't like but I just watch another channel. Simple.

No they didn't say that, they said that there wasn't going to be a celebrity big brother next year, but it would be back in 2009. Apparently as C4 will be 25 years old next year they are going to have a shake up with the programmes, quite a few are getting axed.

Sorry, but they announced that this years Celebrity Big Brother will not be going ahead mostly due to the Shilpa Shetty incident,I haven't heard anything about the main big brother, except this series has recieved the lowest ratings out of all of them.

Wrong! It has announced that CBB will be suspended for a year. I, like so many on here, enjoy watching BB and CBB. What I would like to know is,if you would be glad of no more BBs and therefore you don't watch or don't enjoy it, why are you posing a question on it - a wrong one at that?!

no it announced no more celebrity big brother this time but porbably not cancelled forever
it's probably because of the racism on it last time
i hope they still get paris hilton on it one day, it will be funny watching her doing tasks in silly clothes / running round / getting covered in gunge or whatever, basically being made to look stupid hehe

ps brat camp and you are what you eat have been axed too
