If you want the waterfront, I suggest The Charthouse on Long Wharf. While it is a small chain restaurant, the ambiance is nice and the food is consistantly good. It is not high gourmet, but it is a lovely restaurant and the clam chowder is quite good, as well as the steaks, salads and the Mud Pie for dessert! I have never had a bad meal there. You can't beat being right on a wharf, you can't get any closer to the water.
Someone suggested Venezia. It has a fabulous view but the food is inconsistant. I wasn't at all impressed with the food when I went, but the skyline was impressive.

Also, another decent place to eat is The Skyline Restaurant at Marina Bay in Quincy. They are a great place to go for cocktails and some live accoustic music. There is a nice view of the city there also. The food is pretty good too, but not fancy. It's not a cheap eats kind of place though. A steak will run you around $23.
Hope this helps!

Boston has a rich record and a diverse neighbourhood; it has a heritage of arts, lifestyle, and knowledge; Boston has something for everybody therefore find what Boston can offer you with hotelbye . The three-mile Freedom Trail brings you past - and in to - 16 of the city's primary traditional monuments and sites. It's simple to follow, by the type of red bricks in the pavement and by footprints at road crossings. The path can get you to Old Granary Burying Ground wherever Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock are hidden; will get you to King's Chapel Burying Ground, the Boston's oldest cemetery; Old South Meeting House where in fact the calling speeches of patriots spawned the Boston Tea Party and the Old State House, Boston's oldest public building and the website of the Boston Massacre.

If you go to the sea shore, there are plenty of restaurants to dine in. The area I'm talking about is near the Kennedy Museum.
