Thank you for reminding me of this childhood memory. When we lived in Texas we often would go across the border to Juarez, Mexico. On one such trip my parents bought me a little marionette (a puppet on a string). It was a little man who I had named Pedro. He was wearing a little sombrero. Of course, after time, Pedro broke. I kept the sombrero, and later put it on one of our kittens. My mom still has a picture of that kitten wearing the sombrero. I'm going to have to find it and scan it. Of course, its an old black and white picture. This happened in about 1964 I'm guessing.

We made out Toy Fox Terrier wear a newborn (child) size tiger striped onesie for Halloween one year. He had this pathetic look of humiliation on his face. But he won the office dog dress up contest! A $20 gift certificate to PetSmart. That's a lot of dog treats for a 9 pound dog.
He used to have a leather Harley Davidson coat to wear when it was cold outside. He would bite you if you tried to take him out without it.

I am Mexican. Everyone around my house HAS to wear a sombrero.
My cats look specially cute with sombreros and a zarape.

No sombrero.
BUT my female dog doesn't like to jump onto hardwood floors, and since my bedroom floor is hardwood, she likes to jump all the way from the bed out into the carpeted hallway. She does so with her paws outstretched like Superman or Underdog - - - so my hubby and I made her a little cape with an "S" on it and took a vid of her jumping with it on...

Not hats but dachshunds are built close to the ground and deep snow can be a pain so they have little sweaters they wear. Usually by the time I get them stuffed into it, they've changed their minds, or they don't want anyone to see them wearing such a stupid thing.

I love my little pooches but only the short haired/old ones wear a coat in the rain/cold weather. Short-haired dogs cannot tolerate the cold as easily as long-haired dogs.I do not buy Bling for them either.

That's just wrong. Not having to wear clothes is one of the best advantages of being an animal.

Hmmm...don't have a sombrero, but we sometimes like to put our littlest minpin in his place by dressing him in a cute widdow baby girl dress.
LOL
He thinks he is SO macho!
