They drink really fast and suck it a lot of air. you have to burp them alot during feeding. If it is extreame, they could have acid reflux.

Taking in air from the milk. If you bottle feed, try getting a teat with a smaller hole so less comes out of the bottle.

The type of formula they are on. They may be lactose intolerant. They may be swallowing too much air while they drink. Could be allergic to a certain protein in the formula
I thought my daughter had colic, because all she did was cry and it turned out she was lactose intolerant, I switched her to soy formula, and gave her mylacon drops... she never cried again... besides to let me know she was hungry. and a little while she was teething...
I'm not saying your child wont cry. I just got really lucky... she can fall on her face and not cry....she rocks.

Sometimes it's that their little bellies are still maturing and until that happens they're gassy - our pediatrician said it usually works itself out by 4 months and he was right. Our daughter was really gassy, I used gripe water and that helped her a lot; she was no longer uncomfortable and was able to get her gasses out.

They take in a lot of air with their milk! Try changing bottle teats if you are not b/feeding or just winding him/her more often.

if you bottlefeed him then there is air trapped in the bottle and he sucks it down and gets it in his stomach.and not getting burped every ounce or two ounces and just swallowing air.
