Okay, 17 wks today and second ultrasound is at 10:30 this morning, what are the chances of being able to see the gender today? 1 - 10, 10 being the highest chance of seeing it, 1 being the lowest, thanks =]. Also how much water should I drink, really 5 bottles?

i was 17 weeks and 5 days when I got mine. As long as the baby is in the right position, you should be able to tell. try drinking something with sugar (only a little bit) to get the baby to move around before you go in. they can tell as early as 16 weeks.

It really depends on how experienced the person is who is giving the ultrasound.
I had an ultrasound at my hospital when I was around 17 weeks with my 2nd daughter. I ended up getting a really witchy doctor lady. She basically told me that she couldn't see ANYTHING. She couldn't even tell me if my baby was okay or had all of her organs or...well...anything.
Of course, I panicked and rushed over to my normal gynecologist who was excellent. He has been a doctor for over 20 years and only got the sex wrong ONCE during an ultrasound. Anyways, he gave me another ultrasound and saw everything just fine and clear. Everything was perfect with the baby. It surprised me when 2 minutes later he asked me if I wanted to know the sex?
I was thinking...but, the other doctor couldn't see anything at all?

Just go with a full bladder. Generally a 40 ounce drink will do more than enough.
This is the prime time to see the gender. So long as legs arent crossed or baby wont move, you'll find out today what you're having.

i heard sum people have been able to find out 16-20 weeks. So your cances to day are not to high but if the baby is in the right position then you might beable to tell today. Good luck and congrates!! drink 40 oz. of water before going.

Gender is usally clear around 18 weeks.....drink 32 oz of water.

I have a friend who had one done at 16 weeks and they could see the baby GIRL...Chug a couple large glasses of water and call it good...

about a 4? and as for the water.. my doc makes me drink 40oz and hr and a half prior to the u.s
