There's always a group of morons who'll say we live in a fascist state under a brutal dictator, but then someone puts a bumper sticker such as the one you've mentioned on their car without any fear of persecution. So it makes me wonder if people seriously know what fascism is or a dictatorship? If we were truly living in a society under such circumstance, that guy - or gal - would have been dragged from their car and either executed on the spot and made an example of, or simply taken away immediately, never to be seen again.

I'm not sure I see the controversy in that sticker. It sounds like a public known fact that any republican/or pro-bush can wear on their car with a sad face attached.
I know someone who was stopped by a cop, while walking down the street because he was wearing a crossed out swastika patch on his shirt. He and his buddies were harassed by the cop (who was white). Sure, we have more freedom than most, but activists have been imprisoned, even shot for challenging this government.

Shhh....you might just convince the liberals that they're not being oppressed. Those folks with such stickers on their cars are checking their rear view mirrors for black helicopters following them. They're using cans and string instead of cell phones so the 'president' can't listen into their conversations from the oval office. They're convinced that if they're caught they'll get shipped off to Gitmo and get waterboarded.
You're dealing with a very skittish crowd there, particularly if they're a member of the, oddly enough, one and only oppressed minority in this country. I just think it'll be funny when some republican beats Hillary in '08. Oh man, Prozac sales will go through the roof!

Agreed. Most people in America have no clue what can be like to live outside of America.
They have the freedom to speak out against their country and even hate it.
Shame this is what all that military blood that has been shed over the last 231 years has come to.

I saw one of those bumper stickers on a car the other day too. It was a Toyota Prius. I walked past the car, went and got in my big SUV with my BUSH '04 sticker still on it, and had thoughts of running it over. Then the lady who it belonged to came and got in it. She looked like she had been hit by an ugly stick. Typical Liberal woman....ugly as sin.

I agree. Can you imagine an Iranian putting something like that on their vehicle in his country?

That's real freedom. I don't necessarily agree with it, but it's ok. Like another poster said, try doing that elsewhere and see what happens.
Then you have Fancy That lying about GWB trying to take her right to criticize away.
