I know I need an outfit for when I go home, but do I bring PJ's for the hospital stay, or do I have to wear an awful hospital gown the whole time? I'm trying to pack a bag because it's getting close, but I don't want to bring anything I won't need. What did you wear during your stay?

I took a couple pairs of cozy jammies to wear while I was there and an outfit to wear home. Don't forget to take at least 2 outfits for your new baby...one for pictures and an outfit to wear home. You don't HAVE to take clothes for the baby to wear while you're in the hospital...they will give you t-shirts for the baby while you're there. I chose to take clothes for my son...he wore layettes while we were in the hospital.

Good luck!!

I had a big suitcase with nice PJ's but I had to be wearing the awful hospital gown since I had the intravenous thing (I had a c-section) and I could not put on anything else. But the second day it was nice to have my own PJ's. A lot of underwear, that you will need. A good pair of sleepers. Don't forget your skin products (remember, you'll have guests there) and if you have long hair, take some scrunchies with you (a pony tail is the best when you have to be in bed most of the time). Don't worry and enjoy being there!

You can bring your own PJ's, but the hospital gown's okay too, since you will have some bleeding and it makes it easy to go to the bathroom. You could also just bring a robe to put over the hospital gown. As for clothes, the things that fit you earlier in your pregnancy, say when you were 5 or 6 months pregnant, will be good to go home in, since you will be alot smaller, but not completely back to normal. Try to find something comfortable with a looser-fitting crotch, because you will still be sore. Good luck!

I brought a nice comfy pair of pj's and a bath robe. That way if you are stuck in the the ugly gown at least you get your dignity when you go to the bathroom. I was able to change and wore the pj's I brought. I also did that because you know everyone is going to want pictures and I didn't want to be stick in the gown. Just be careful of the leaking if you delivery vaginally. As far as going home, I wore a dress, nothing fancy, I just left myself open to if I had to have a C- section I didn't have to worry about aggravating my stitches with a waistband. I know some of the summer dresses are more for little girls but if you have a flowing dress I would recommend that.

well personally i brought my own gown and pjs. but turns out I didnt wont to ruin them. so i wore the hospitals for the 1st night, and the 2nd night I wore theres also, but I used mine when I would get up and walk around. but that was it.

I believe all you need is: Good pads, a outfit to wear home, a outfit for the baby, and pair of pjs/gown or a robe. and of course your shampoo and stuff like that and the babys carseat. everything else the hospital supplies.. Everyone seems to over pack with there 1st child. I know I did..and hardly used any of it.

Take very loose fitting clothing, you'll be more comfy definitely. Maternity top and pants would be best, nothing very tight or fitting close. Make sure you have a nightgown, robe and slippers or socks. Also make sure you have the other things needed brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, pads, soap, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner. I would just get the travel sized items would be best. Also make sure you have everything you'll need for the baby, outfit to going home in, blankets, carseat, the hospital may give you some items too, like formula, diapers, baby wash, wipes and so on, but I would pack some of other items as well.

I had a rough labor and I ended up wearing a hospital gown for all 3 days, even though I had packed my own nightie. I bled everywhere and I was glad to not stain my own clothes. When I went home, I just wore stretch pants and a t shirt. After having my baby, I just wanted to go home and rest. I didn't care what I looked like. Also, be sure to bring your own undies as the hospital gives you worthless mesh ones to wear.

I had a c-section and didn't feel like wearing anything but a hospital gown. I did buy nursing pj's and had my husband bring me a robe to go home in.....and some slippers.

I wore normal clothes or maternity clothes during the day in the hospital and my own pj's at night. The only time I wore the ugly hospital gowns was after delivery when I didn't want to get blood on everything. Make sure the clothes you bring are warmer but not too thick as it gets cold in the airconditioning.
Lots of socks and ugly knickers as you might want to throw the first couple of pairs of knickers out as they get a little gross sometimes!
Also the best best best thing I discovered were 'bike pants/shorts'. You can buy them at target in the 'gym clothes' section and they are short tight shorts that i wore over my knickers and under my clothes. This helped keep my knickers tight and pad in them so I didn't leak all over my clothes. It just felt more secure as you are always paranoid of leaking on your clothes. 2 pairs should cover it as you just send hubby home to wash them!

Good luck and congrats!

Extra pairs of underwear suitable for wearing with maxi-pads, A Nightgown, some pj pants, robe, socks, slippers, and a comfortable outfit to head home in (remember you'll still look six months pregnant, so plan accordingly). - ♥ -
