Hmm I wonder why you spotted... But the spotting should not affect when you ovulate, since you count from the first day of your cycle, and the length of your period shouldn't have anything to do with it. I would say you ovulate whenever you normally do... i f you have about a 28 day cycle that would be *around* cd 14 (but could be up to a few days earlier or later)... if your cycle is normally shorter or longer, count back or forward a few days, respectively. Also, look for the egg-white like CM to help you know for sure.

Ovulation, regardless of period time, is usually between 10-14 days after the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP).
so if you got your period on the 5th then you would probably be ovulating between the 15-19th possible a day or two after.
I know I get my period and it last 10 day with the last 6 days just spotting and I still ovulate 14days after the first day which is only 4 days after I stop spotting.
The best option is probably to take an ovulation test everyday during this 10-14 day period and see if it comes up positive. Then you know when to try.
Good luck

I think you may have already ovulated this month. It is usually around 14 days after the 1st day of your period but everyone is differetn. Trying googling 'ovulation calendar' this will help.
