It's impossible to answer this question. It is too broad. I can only speak to what I see around me and my own narrow perspective living on the East Coast of the USA. World news is too inaccurate to be reliable.

The current state of the world is relatively no worse than what it has been in the past. The flow of information from multiple sources means that we are more aware of issues than in the past and therefore more conscious of their implications on a personal and global scale. Most political/social/global warning issues are more dramatic due to population increases and will continue to be so in the future. The most dismaying thing is that today, more than ever, money rules the world and no real solutions to the most important issues will be implemented while that remains the case. I could go on for hours on this subject but the bottom line is i think it is a great time to be alive!Just remember when you are watching the news that there are 3 sides to every story(yours, mine and the truth)so don't take information for granted no matter the source.Keep an open mind and don't be fooled by stereotyping.FEAR IS THE MINDKILLER

In what area are u asking?

politically: we are in a rut! we have the dumbest president ever to be "elected", we have been placed in the middle of the war that has been going since B.C. the economy is taking a nose dive into debt, Social security is none existent, although money is being deducted from our checks for something call FICA, poor people are being ridiculously taxed while the rich stay rich by only paying maybe 1% of their networth, this whole united states thing is screwed up..thanks alot politicians!!!!

environmentally: we are facing global warming and no one cares about it until it's too late...there was a possible hurricane in chicago, il.....when has there ever been a hurricane in that part of thecountry? no one listens in this world until it's too late, at least not in the states.

so i think the world is pretty screwed up. we have all these wealthy people in the world: politicians and celebrities, who say that want to help everyone but none of them will let their sons and daughters fight this never-ending war. and when hurricane katrina hit most of them just sat and complained when the should have sold their million dollar jewelry and bought houses for those newly displaced victims. it's a sad world when u rather let someone starve on the streets of the "home of the brave" while u preach about helping instead of doing so, just so u can get a little attention for ur upcoming albums release or re(election).... weeeeeeewwwwwwww!!!!lol

Technology is advancing faster than societies are, meaning we will have little 3rd world nations with WMD's, but no way to secure them from falling into the wrong hands.

AIDS is killing Africa and will slam China pretty hard in years to come.

Socialism is challenging freedom, and only the rewards of capitalism may be able to stave it off.

Overpopulation is accelerating global warming and trashing the planet.

Today, you are the most free you will ever be again. Think about that.

As Number 2 so elegantly put it, "There is no world anymore, just coporations."

Nearly anything that happens today happens because of a coporation's desire to control something. Nothing has really changed since the days of colonialism, only the style of colonies and the names of the colonizers (now companies instrad of countries). America still has a major say in what occurs in Central and South America, Saudi Arabia and is trying to strengthen its position in the jmiddle east, China is starting to dominate Africa and is trying to get a foot in the door in Iran, and Iraq, and probibly has something to do with the Maoist movement forming in India, Russia is still involved in Iran. The EU formed for economic reasons. The African nations have formed a similar arrangment, and with NAFTA and similar legislation, North America is slowly moving that way as well.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't believe conspiracy nuts or that illuminatti crap, but I do think that the world of today is the world of 1910; only colonial styles of altered slightly. Nothing has ever really changed. Each nation and each person looks out for their best interests, and what you see happening in the world is the result; no conspiracy needed.

It is moving right along as it always has.

Study history. The world has never been a happy-kumbaya-singing place. We just remember a happier time that never really existed. Remember how happy grandpa was walking to school in the snow; uphill, both ways?
