If that mining company had spent money on equipping their miners with tracking devices, it would have saved so much time, money, effort, and lives on this rescue operation. The technology exists, but there is no law forcing mining companies to have their miners wear tracking devices. This whole thing is a tragedy.

I think that they should attempt to send a capsule down to find the bodies, but take all precautions to make sure no more lives are lost in the process. The families of the trapped miners need closure.

I've worked in the coal mines for 23 years. When the earth begins to act like it is out there, you just can't go back in, it's next to impossible. The chances of the men, as much as I am sad to say, where probably dead from the beginning. When the mountain begins to act up as this one did ( bottom hoveing and ribs rolling), the men should have been out long before it fell. This is one job where having a Union is the only way yo stay alive, because you can make your own decision to not go into those places. THOSE MEN WHERE NO LESS THAN MURDERED!

Seems a bit harsh.
I know they won't be found alive, but to not give the families the chance to lay their loved ones to rest seems rough.

But money makes the consumer driven society go around and unless some kind rich person steps in to pay for the continued search operation it doesn't surprise me that they'll stop searching.

I know if they were my family members that I would want the search to continue until at least their bodies are found so that they could be buried properly. I say let the search continue until there is a peace of mind for everyone.

That is such a tough call! I do not think they should risk anymore lives to rescue them but I do think they can drill!! Even if they are just trying to excavate bodies, they should do something using whatever equipment they can from outside the cavern. But I do not know anything at all about mining so my idea might not even be possible!!

I think it is too late to save the miners, but the recovery should continue so their families can give them a decent burial and find closure.

i've prayed for those trapped miners since day one, i wish they could have been rescued/recovered but i don't think they should risk any more lives. i just wish that they had been able to have had a proper burial.

The search already cost other lives and they are sure that the miners are dead anyway.

For the safety of the living, I think they should stop...I don't understand why they can't go in from up above, but that's just me...they couldn't have survived, so they have to be buried underground anyway,,,let that be their final resting place ,,,doing what they did, and being with friends..

they should at least find the bodies of those dead people, and they should have a funeral like everyone else. Or I suppose they could just have the funeral right there on site and call it a done deal.
