How can I drop a couple of them off the needle. Can anyone please recommend a good site that will show me how to do this with diagrams?
Thankyou

If you knit 2 sts. tog towards the beginning and at the end of the next row that will bring your stitch count back to 15.

I'm sorry I don't have a web site to recommend to you but I really think the best way to learn to knit is to sit with someone who can knit. That way you get help straight away and knitting becomes easier as you practice.

The best way to learn is knit a scarf and learn to keep the correct number of stitches on the needle.

Then once you have done that then you can learn how to do other stitches.

When I taught my daughters i had them sitting nearby and when trouble happened i was immediately on hand. They soon caught on.

Other than that google knitting and search for a site that shows knitting in demo form. I know they're available but I only found them by googling.

Good luck and I hope you learn to enjoy knitting. It can be very relaxing.

Often when you start a row, if you do not pull the yarn down and back behind the needle, you will have what looks like 2 stitches or loops on the needle when there should be only one. That is how you can end up having extra stitches. The cure for that is to check your first stitch, make sure you only have one loop available.
Sometimes you do a 'yarn over' which is wrapping the yarn over the needle. that will add an extra stitch, and also add a hole in the fabric. While a great way to make a decorative stitch, it is always better to plan those holes, rather than just having them appear. Count your stitches every couple of rows just to make sure you are not adding stitches.

I would suggest that you go to WWW.knittinghelp.com to look at their on-line videos, they are very helpful. I also like Knitting.about.com, the diagrams are clear and easy to understand. They also have links to free patterns, always a nice thing.
You can also check youtube.com and search for knitting, there are alot of good demonstrations out there.

Don't drop any, just knit two at once a couple of times. Then if the mistake is obvious, you'll want to go back and pull it out. til you have your original 15 stitches. Hang in there!
