If given a glass of drink and asked if it was half full or half empty, I would concern myself first of all, within a certain degree of reason, with the nature of its contents – what is the content of the glass? If it is something good, then if, for instance, the glass is half empty then I would see that there is still room for more, room for hope. I would then receive the glass with half the hope. But if the glass is only half full then I would accept it with full gratitude.

But the question is simplistic; it is a question about my general attitude towards life, and situations in life that I encounter. This question asks if I am an optimistic person, if I am content at heart? The answer to simplistic questions can sometimes be simplistic too. In this case, yes! I am an optimistic person; I do like to see a silver lining in every cloud, and seek to find good in everything I see. I too live through the bleakest of nights and hope that I will rise to see a new dawn of a brightest day. I see that all things i life pass, as there is an end to every thing. But what lasts forever is the moment that we have now, for this is the only thing that can be complete in the world – if I am then I am not my end. And all we have is within the measures of this one moment, a moment that can be empty for us or it can also be full to the brim. If then we learn to accept something good today, in the measure of the moment present, with gratitude, We could hen hope to receive something better tomorrow, in the moment to come.
