I'm currently living in Asia but I'm planning to go to America for higher education. I most probably have to work to support myself but how am I supposed to make and hang out with friends when I'm working everyday? In addition, I don't know how to cook( I only know how to cook instant noodles and boil water) or sew.

I have never worked before and I'm scared. I have hardly done any house chores because I am more of a hinderence than help.

You don't have to tell me that I'm a loser because Iknow I am. I am terrified of college because I have to be independent and that I may have difficulties in managing my finances. Usually, I spend a lot.

How am I supposed to make friends?

You're not the only one! When I started college, I couldn't cook, do laundry, and I still can't sew!! Luckily, these aren't necessary skills for college life in America (well, the laundry is). If you can't cook....that's what fast food is for! You'll learn easily, and make plenty of friends in your classes and at work. Before you know it, it'll be over!

You will make friends both in your classes and at whatever job you work at. I have fun both in class and at work, because that's where my friends are! You will be fine.

As far as cooking, just look up recipes online. Or buy things like Hamburger Helper or whatever and follow the instructions on the box! Relatively foolproof...haha.

I don't sew... The only person I know that does is my grandmother...haha. Not really a necessary skill...

If you have any more questions, feel free to email me. I already help other people that are going into college... :)

life in the USA is not as easy as how many people think it's. so i am assuming that you will move with people who you already know or trust and they may take care of you at the beginning.

first thing you should do when you come here is to look for a job not for education. when you find the job, then start go to college. i am a college student and the college here is very flexible and nice, don't be afraid.

friends will come later, but don't make it your main concern, in college everyone feel like he/she is new, and are searching for new friends just like you. you can make friends by creating group study together, or join activity together.
