Office XP will absolutely without a doubt work with Vista and, according to the Epson website the drivers that came with your printer will work in Vista. I've been using Vista for months and there are very few things that are incompatible with Vista. The problems are being exaggerated.
edit - There is no need to download any new drivers, the ones on the included CD work just fine.

Your printer does NOT have drivers for Windows Vista. See the link below, and then try changing the drop down box on the left of the page to Windows Vista. You'll find that the only download is for EPSON PIF Tool 3.2c.
There's absolutely no problem with using your Office XP on Windows Vista. Do bear in mind, however, that some of your other programs may not run with Vista.

Since Vista has been out for a while the drivers for your printer should be available to down load from the Epson site.
The link below is to your printer and the drivers that are compatibly with Vista.
You office programme will run on vista or XP as it is a microsoft product and they'd be foolish to issue a completely new system when their whole ethos is about compatibility

GOOD LUCK TRYING TO BUY A NEW COMPUTER WITH XP BECAUSE THEY DON'T SELL THEM ANYMORE YOU HAVE TO BUY USED. I HAD TO BUY A VISTA AND MY PRINTER DID WORK FOR A BIT WITH IT AND STOPPED. MAYBE THE PRINTER IS TOO OLD? MAYBE IT'S VISTA? I JUST BOUGHT A NEW PRINTER AND I HAVE TO CALL THE COMPANY TO CHANGE SOME DRIVERS IN MY COMPUTER SO THE PRINTER WILL WORK. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SOME COMPUTER PROFESSIONALS AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT VISTA AND SO FAR FROM WHAT I HEAR AND FROM EXPERIENCE VISTA IS NO GOOD. NOTHING WORKS WITH IT. I HAVE SOME 50 CD'S AND ONLY 1 WORKS WITH VISTA. IF YOU BUY A VISTA COMPUTER YOU CAN CHANGE IT TO XP. FIRST YOU CALL MICROSOFT AND THEY DO THEIR THING THEN YOU CALL HP AND THEY HELP YOU ADJUST THE DRIVERS SO THE COMPUTER WORKS LIKE AN XP. THERE IS A CATCH. MICROSOFT DIDN'T MAKE THE PROGRAM TO CHANGE. YOU'R COLOR MAY NOT BE AS BRIGHT OR CLEAR, YOU MAY NOT HAVE VOLUME OR IT MAY BE DISTORTED, ETC. IF YOU TRY TO CHANGE VISTA TO XP AND DON'T LIKE IT YOU CAN CHANGE IT BACK TO VISTA. THIS IS ALL FREE FOR 3? MONTHS, MAYBE A LITTLE LONGER. ALSO WITH VISTA WHEN YOU PLUG YOUR PRINTER INTO IT MANY TIMES IT WILL HOOK UP AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT USING YOUR CD'S. ANYHOW, GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DECISION AND I HOPE THIS HELPED.

Should be fine, you'll need to download the drivers for the printer from Epson to get the full functionality of the unit.
Office is no problem.
Vista itself may well prove irritating beyond belief though.

1st..Goodluck finding a new pc without Vista.
Try going to the individual websites for the software and printer. You may be able to upgrade the old software and printer to meet the Vista standards.
I have been hearing negative things about Vista and personally can't find anything negative to say about it.
