ray - I am indeed a Catholic Christian but I'd probably not be considered a "true" one 'coz I think the Bible is stupid and that I have a right to have my own thoughts and explore them =]

Thug Aura - your answer interested me, I'd like you to expand on why I need help so much... if you re-read my question, I am not suicidal or anything, I am extremely lucky to be given the gift of life BUT would you want to wonder the earth forever, watch your loved ones pass before your eyes and you be left here, all alone ??

I couldn’t agree with you more. I mean, I’m only fourteen, I’m struggling in life right now, but I know that it will eventually pass, and I’ll have fun, but… Death is something I sorta look forward too, like… it’s something distant to me, like an awesome game I want that won’t come out for months, but, it’s also… close…
Alright, I’m rambling. And being vague, I hate vague… Oh, well. I know this answer won’t really help, but… I felt the need to let the world and you know that I feel the same.

Yes to an extent.
I'm an Agnostic, and do not have a belief in life after death. As such, I am terrified of death. Yet when I think about if I had the choice to be immortal, I would not choose to. It would be great at first, to see how things turn out, to not have to worry, to be able to experience the enjoyment of the future. But then... what if your body was mashed, or if all other life on Earth ended, or if you somehow came to be drifting in space.
You'd be there, forever. By yourself, forever. It's terrifying, although just as terrifying as dieing, to no longer exist, to think.
It's at times like this, I do hope in life after death, because that is the only thing that could possibly keep me sane.

The comfort in this knowledge is very much similar to the desire for one to check to see how far they have left to complete a book. Human beings are drawn the conclusive. That which is inconclusive or infinite, is somewhat frightening. Man understands everything in a cause and effect, goal driven, manner, which will no doubt be missing, if life were to go on indefinitely.

I take comfort in it. At 13 unlike most people I wasn't afraid to die. I've lost so mant loved ones that I look forward to seeing them again. If I didnt believe that I was going to a better place or going to see them all again I probably would be afraid. I know I've made mistakes in life but hell I'm 17! I'm sure evryone does and that its ok, or there'd be nobody in heaven. As far as heaven goes, IDK, I haven't figured out my theory on that yet! I've been throuh so much and yet I know much more is to come and I do feel relieved that when I've done what I was sent here to do and accomplished what I was sent to accomplish that I can leave, that this world is not forever, as we know it!

Yes I agree. I enjoy my life now but I wouldn't want to live forever. It's like needing a good rest after a long day...At some point we need that eternal sleep...

The part that is most discomforting is the fact that we don't know where, when or how. As a biological entity we have the deepest need to survive and our fear of death is part of that.
For me, it's the details. Death is a natural part of life, but not knowing how scares me, somewhere deep down I fear many different kinds of deaths.

You make a great point indeed!!
If life was to be for ever, there would be no purposefulness at all.... it would be as meaningless and uncomfortable to the mind as wandering for ever without any destination whatsoever...

For many people, the fear of death is not present. Whether you believe in god, budda, alla, or some other higher presence, you believe that the next life is a better one.
