yes it's a con!!!!

Online Buyers: Never(ever) pay with Western Union or Money Gram - That's right -- never! These methods have proven to be unsafe when paying someone you don't know. Use paypal only!!!

For $2000 I would seriously consider using an escrow service.
These services take your money and hold it - they send the seller a notice that they have your money and they can now ship the item. Once you receive the item OK, you let the escrow service know that they can release the money. and the seller gets his cash.

It is the fairest way to do it, that way, nobody is out any $ for having no product.

Just look online for an escrow service - they are usually more expensive than a moneygram, but you have more peace of mind. I would certainly not send a money order and Paypal only offers protection up to $500.

Try www.escrow.com

that is a lot of dosh. Use PayPal, but ask for Special Coverage up to £2,000. Normal cover is $500. Much safer than ASCREW or any other. I have lost out as a seller with others, but never with PayPal. They offer support all the way.

I do not know what you are buying - but i would be VERY wary of parting with this sum on E Bay. You are in the U K - where is your seller ? Check him out first. Tread carefully.

Ihope the above has been helpful and I do wish you well.

Do not accept money unless it is a cheque from the buyer. I got money even through PayPal and the person got their money back for the camera I sold them and there was NOTHING wrong with it. They didn't actually complain about the camera just lied and got the money back.
