Well the easy way is to use some of the "PreBuilt" hotspot access points/routers. There are many available they have USER management built in so you dont need special software etc to setup a hotspot. They built in user "validation" which uses a usename and password to connect. Gives the hot spot operator control over who can an can't connect! When a new user attempts to connect he will be presented with a "LOGIN Screen" and has to enter a valid username password combination to connect.

Has full hotspot control built in can even be ordered with a ticket printer.

Or find one of the PROXIM / ORINOCO 2500 units many are available they also have user management built into them

Both of these just need an internet connection for a quick instant hotspot with user validation and control!

Well if you have a wireless router already hooked up than just buy an access point and put in area close enough to reach a signal, than that would be a hotspot...I think..maybe.

an internet connection and a wireless router.

All you do is plug the wireless router into the modem and name it something like "wireless hotspot" (oh yeah, you cant secure it if you want it to be a hotspot). You would now have a wireless hotspot.

Install a wireless router, such as a Linksys WRT54G. Leave the access open(default) , and you're done! Many people do this at home without even realizing it, giving free Internet to all their neighbors at their expense!

Well if the pc has a wi-fi networking card, he can hook up with the community identical to he does on his computer. If now not he must set up a wi-fi networking card or purchase a wi-fi dongle (usb). // Why do persons repeat one reply five occasions?
