There is a group of animals called cattle, in that group three animals are there.
1. Buffalo
2. Cow
3. Goat

Buffalo gives 5 ltrs of milk, Cow gives 2 ltrs of milk, Goat gives 1/4 ltrs of milk,

Arrange the animals in such a way that i can get 40 ltrs of milk and animals should be 19.

Can u solve this puzzle ???. This requires only 15 - 20 mins
Tell me the answer....

You have three variables but only two equations so you will get a range of numbers that solve this problem.
If B=# of buffalo, C=# of cow, G = # of goats.
B+C+G = 19 which is the first equation

Amount of milk is animal x production
5B+2C+G/4 = 40 which is the second equation.

Solve both equations for G and set them equal to each other.
G=19-B-C
G=160-20B-8C after you multiply by 4 to get fraction out

19-B-C = 160-20B-8C is what you need to rearrange and solve so get C by itself on one side
C=19B+8C-141 so C=(19B+141)/-7

At this point you should graph the equation or try the several possibilities. Pick possible values (not negative for example). B can only be 1,2,3 or there will be too much milk. C must be a 4,8,12,16 or there will be a fractional liter of milk. After you have one animal count, put it back and get the second, and then the third.

Start with the biggest number of the biggest animal. Try 3 buffaloes which will give you 15 liters with 25 more needed. If so since cows give an even number of liters you need an odd number of liters from the goats so goats can only be 4 or 12. Try the 12 goats giving 3 liters meaning you need 22 but that would give too many animals so try the 4 goats next. That gives 1 liter so you would need 24. You have 7 animals so you can get 12 cows which works out to be 19 total which is perfect. B=3, C=12, G=4

If it hadn't there are not that many other combos to try.
