Great question and it deserves a great answer.

Providing you have public library access:

Most cities have a public library and most will offer free night courses in computer basics and also Introduction to the internet. some libraries will offer more as the public requires, such as introduction to CSS/HTML or typing. These are FREE courses and usually take just one or two days a week, for a few weeks.

If your public library does not offer any free courses. Find their website and make a suggestion for something. Libraries are trying hard to generate new interest from the public, since the internet has taken over and they may be very open to suggestions.

actually, it is a hobby, if you want to learn then read some books, studying in a computer schools is not enough to learn all computer technological knowledge. if you are a starter, it is a trial and error, until you can perfect all of them. now i am a software creator, i had started from repairing system, Windows OS, then Build Up a Computer, then making one sofware for almost 3 months, creating Software cracks, not the hack one but the application on my own way. Now i have my own site, sharing my own softwares, cracks and other multimedia tools.. it's up to you if you want to expand your knowledge and be a computer genius. it takes time but it is a good one. goodluck

why ask an expert? I learned by playing with the computer ,learning different features , what I couldn't do and can do.
Trial and error . You can't fix a perfect computer , but you can can fix and broken computer.

bought my first computer many years ago and now getting A+ Information Technology Certication by CompTIA .start to my make my own money on my own terms and loving it too.

If there wasn't for errors viruses, system malfunctioning, upgrades, and beta testing soon to be released software I wouldn't be in the postiton I am now

The best way is to find a video game you like and then play it a whole bunch.

Then, you'll be a lot better at computers when you're done playing the game.
