Look at what this person said...

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, derserve neither liberty nor safety."

What? Are you kidding me? Don't they know that we need things like the "Patriot Act" to secure ourselves against the "evil doers?" Don't they know that Bush has our best intentions at heart when he warrantlessly spys on fellow Americans? Don't they hear the wolves at the door?

This person has no clue what freedom and America is about!!!!!

Oops, my bad, Benjamin Franklin said that quote back in 1755.

Yep, some of you just didn't "get it." Poor Ben, what must he be thinking now?

Nice attempt at sarcasm but it went over most peoples heads. There is a big gap between being alert and overkill isn't there?

Ok - so Ben Franklin is a dope smoking idiot who doesn't know about freedom or liberty? Is that what you are saying? Perhaps you need to research a little before you post questions. And maybe now you know who actually said it you might have a think about it before you start war mongering.

Liebrals are pot smoking hippy drug addics.

Benjamin Franklin never sayed that and even if he did he must have been high. So what are you triing to say hes' against freedom? you need to reserche better before you post questions.

Why cant' you be like good normal americans and smoke cigs and drink old milwakee? Thats what me and my husband Bubuh do.
Whos Benjamin Franklin anyhow?

Pot, crack, anything but tobacco.I think that any quote over 100 years old should be reexamined to see if it's still relevant today, before anyone from ether side uses it. People act as if the world didn't change since then.

The only liberties I have seem to lost are the freedom to take my nail clippers and own drink onto an airplane.

What liberties have been taken from you and how has it affected your life?
