It's not a paradox,
a) he didnt state that it was all of the time, and in all circumstances
b) if all cretans lied, all of the time, in all circumstances, the cretan could not have made that statement - therefore the person who heard the cretan say that, must have made a mistake, or been telling a lie , himself
c) if he was correct, then there would be no cretans left. anarchy and madness would have wiped the population out
(Wow! I've solved an age-old paradox, I must be really clever)

it is sort of a chicken or the egg question.
Cretans were infamously known brigands and liars. Instead of being manly and fighting in a phalanx, girly, shifty Cretans used bow and arrows, pretty much the wimpiest weapons ever made (at least, this is what the proper Greeks, such as Athenians or Spartans, would have thought of the Cretans).
The Toxotoi Kretikoi, the Cretan Archers, were among the finest bowmen in the world. Julius Caesar mentions using them in his commentaries on the Gallic Wars.
But enough history, on to the Paradox.
If a Cretan says "all Cretans lie":
-if all Cretans do lie, he is telling the truth, thus contradicting himself
-if he himself is lying, then All Cretans don't lie, since we would know that the statement "All Cretans lie" is false.
So the phrase "All Cretans lie" can not be uttered by a Cretan without contradiction.

No, there is no need to resolve this, the premise of the Cretian's argument is that all Cretians lie. Just because one Cretian told one truth one time, does not hold that that premise could be or even should be, disproved.
