Yes, I agree, it's so annoying. Even worse when they take a bite of everthing and leave the rest, so you've got nowt and they've got a plate piled high with half eaten food !

Ok, I don't mind that these people eat a lot, but it does upset me when they have to pile so much food on there plate at once. Don't they realize that by the time they get to the bottom of the plate that the food is cold. Or that these people will make a huge pile and then only eat half of it. When I go, because I love the variety and to try new things, I will take just a small spoonful of something this way I can at least try it and if I don't like it, I am not wasting a whole plate ful of food, just a small amount. You think adults are bad, kids are even worse. They will take large amounts of the crab legs and then only eat one or two. Or the way that they stick there fingers into food and the parents are either not watching them or see them do that and do nothing. When my children were small and I took my daughter up to the buffet to help her with her plate, she dipped her fingers into some ranch dressing and lick it and dip it again (I think she was 4 or 5 at the time) I pulled to container out of the buffet and gave it a manager and apoligized for what my daughter had done. I felt sooooo bad........ They dumped it and brought out a new container. I know that my daughter did wrong so I spoke to her about it and may her apolgize as well. So my kids know not to do this which is great. It even bothers them when they see other kids doing this and parents don't do anything. I went to CiCi's once and this lady filled up two plates with pizza about 8 pieces each plate. She then sat down, took two bites from each, then ate only the toppings and left the rest of the crust. She did this about 10 times, YUCK.........

I hate going to buffets because I can't eat a lot in one sitting and I hate the wasted food. It is fun to watch how so many larger people go to them though. ( and you wonder why america has an obesity issue (( overeating))) I also don't like the quality of the food or the fact that it consist of mostly starchy foods. I would rather go to a regular restaurant and get a plate of good food with someone to bring it to me.

I only go to salad bars for buffets, but i know what you are talking about. There is something more interesting though. People that eat for fun, clean their plates. People that eat for nutrition always leave the plate unclean. It is proven and I think that a buffet is best place to meet a fat person. I do not understand how a person can eat that much. I am not fat, but our stomachs are the same size, pretty much. How can they eat so much more than me?

We have one near us, I go a lot! there is an art to it. First you start with the soup, then onto the cold meat/fish/salads.Next comes the asian stuff, or italian, etc., then if I am still hungry I might try the roast and veg. Then of course, theres the sweets. All types of cakes and gateaux, ice cream, custard, sticky date pudding, choc, pudding, apple crumble. OH MAN cant wait to go again!!Finally finish with coffee and cheese and biccies. Its a matter of taking your time and enjoying it all. Theres always plenty there, they refill continually. Good ole OZ , best place in the world.!!!P.S. I am healthy and not overweight either.!!!

It isn't the fault of the people that eat a lot, I'm sure that is factored into the price. The restaurant should promptly replenish any items that are gone, if they don't you should complain to management, and you shouldn't eat there if this is a constant problem.

Yes it irritates me as well. Especially when they pile their plate up and waste loads. Remember the saying "your eyes are bigger than your belly"

Sometimes, I wish I could walk past someone with a pile of food and sneeze real hard and sloppy over their plate as they pass by.

It's one of those things you think of but never do.
