i also got my womb, cervix cotorised at the same time.

It may be painful because you have cauterized your cervix. You will have to give it time to heal. It takes atleast 6 - 8 weeks to heal. Go slow on it till then.

The coil is functional as far as contraception is concerned as soon as it is fitted. Take it gently, more because of the cautery.
