Normally I am barefoot 24/7/365.

But when using the weed wacker, I put on shoes and long pants and eye protection.

The main reason for wearing shoes while using a string trimmer is because my attention is focused Not on what I am stepping on, but on what I am attempting to cut down. I want to get the job done quickly, easily, and completely and I don't want to have to worry about stepping on something that will hurt or cause me to loose my balance. With shoes on, I can focus 100 perecent of my attention on using the weed wacker.

Even barefooters have to be smart and wear shoes once in a while when the situation requires.

No, I have never done any weed eating, I pull them by hand. I hate powertools no matter what I'm wearing, I wouldn't do any weed eating in full body armour! Besides the joy of gardening is that it's quiet and relaxing. Using powered mowers, weed whackers, electrical trimmers etc takes all the pleasure out of gardening. It's great they're invented for landscapers for whom it's the result that counts and who just have to get the job done as quick as possible, but I won't ever use any of those things!

Not barefoot, but in shorts...not recomended.

What is it with you and bare feet ? It's a little strange to say the least.
