I find this most intriguing to say the least !

the easiest answer is usually jealousy over something , but as you may have guessed its not the right answer.

But then again what is the best or right answer?
In my personal view its mainly caused by ignorance, and not much else.

people tend to be creatures of habit and in so doing , you will find you fear what you dont know.
like the cow finding the grass greener on the other side of the fence, is really greener ? no but to the cow it seems like it would be when in fact its all brown!

As humans we can see the difference but we dont always make the right choice , even though we can actually see the grass is brown everywhere.
If you apply that to the reasons we get angry , it can then become clear as to how our buttons got pushed in the first place and we wind up blowing a gasket.
take for instance this ......
Johnny got mad at jim because jim stole johns girl friend , and after the fight broke out they went off to meet a later time! during this time jim decided that johns girl friend was nothing to call home about while john found him self a better girl friend ...after some discussion they both decided it was "stupid " to have fought over the girl in the first place!
So in the end one was fearful or losing something he may never of had in the first place , and the other found out that what he didnt know wasnt any good for him in the first place .
there are lots of examples i could show , but that is for another time!

anger is a release against real or p;received hurts suffered at the hands of another. To be angry is human and not necessarily a failure. Certainly the anger we fail when a child is harmed is justified and completely normal. Those who deny their anger are doomed to suffer from ill health with a plague of problems like constipation, headaches, stomach acid, arthritis, gout and sexual dysfunction. It is how we release the anger that determines how we arbite or judge it. Beating a desk into chip;s of wood can make everyone angry, especially at the beater. Beating another in public can get you attacked by angry mobs.
What if: In normal tones and without a trace of hate you were to express to another that : when you
avoid me in the lunch room it makes me feel angry(anger is another word for hurt) and I want to walk away from you and not see you for awhile. Not a trace of violence, hatred, blaming or put downs. A simple statement will do. Now, the other person owns the anger. You released it quietly, legitimately, and with enough passion that you no longer own it. It is not stuffed, hidden away to pop up at some inconvenient time and against an unsuspecting and innocent person at the cash register or the car wash.
Anger is not bad. It is a feeling, like other feelings and we should not fear it, unless we have not learned how to express it satisfactorily.

Mostly because things don't work the way WE want them to work. little do we realize that the world does not run on our views and principles. we have to learn to accept the other person for who he is, and also his idiosyncrasies
