Here are the jumpers found in computers and devices:

They are used to connect or short two pins on the motherboard, a hard drive, a CD drive and some other devices. Always refer to the motherboard manual when setting up jumpers.

jumpers sets drives up as master or slave, if you have two drives on the same ide cable one will be master and the other slave, look on the drive it has diagrams of where the jumpers need to be set.

also there are six pins usually and the jumper will short two (its a little plastic thing that pulls off)
