Yes they do. I have two Isa Brown chickens, and they lay big brown eggs, and they live on nothing at all almost. If you let them roam free around he yard they follow you around, and you can throw some seed down in a certain area if you want them to decimate the weeds there. If you want pretty chickens Silky Bantams are adorable, though they only lay teeny eggs.

Chicken are actually real smart animals.. never had one for a pet ..raised a lot of them..but never a pet..

Chickens are the stupidist birds ever. There's no fun having them except for their eggs. However, they're really really cute when they're still small chics.

When I was little my uncle gave me a rooster and we named him Big Red and he slept with the dog and when the dog barked he would run along side him crowing. LOL. That stupid rooster thought he was a dog and I think the dog did too.
