Why do almost all racist questions start off with "I'm not racist , but-" Then go into a long list of reasons why a certain race should not exist?

Blackbirus- No where in my profile do I use the word "hate". My exact words are, "I can not stand the following:"

That does not make me racist. A racist is someone who hates somebody for something that they can not help, like color of skin for instance.

I do not hate the individuals who are homosexual. I can't stand homosexuality in general.

The same reason people say "No offence" when they're about to offend you.

Because, your perception is your reality! People base there first impression by who the people are and experiences they have had. Alot has to do with stereo type, media, experience and what your parents think of a certiant race or culture. " I am not racists but..." People can see patterns in cultural differences and attitude toward situations... Whether it be how someone tips, orders food, buys things, what the drive, how they vote, and so on..... Every one is "racists" because we pre-judge other humans....
The truth is If there was no such thing as pre judging or stereo type America would be a better place.

The way I see it people are trying to minimze or justify their own feelings toward peple of another race. It is like saying I'm not racist I have a friend who is black or Native or whatever. When in fact they are racist, its more or less a way of expressing a racist opinion while attempting to deflect any negative feedback away from themselves.

Because those people are hateful and intolerant, but like to believe they are good people, so they delude themselves. Sort of like how you write in your bio that you hate homosexuals, yet you write up this question as if you're not just as hateful as the people you're complaining about.

Edit: Oh, I'm sorry. You "can't stand" homosexuals. (Note, you did not write "homosexuality", you wrote "homosexuals". Sounds like you're talking about the individuals to me.) So I guess if someone wrote that they "can't stand" black people, that would make them not a racist? And I never said you're a racist, no, you're a different type of bigot.

They force themselves to believe they are not racists because they know its wrong, yet deep down they truly are, but are in denial

because they're not really racist but that certain race pissed them the hell off so they speak out of anger.

that's their way of justifying it for themselves and it's lame. have you ever had a friend you always talked smack about everyone and alwasy started his sentence like this, "i like (so and so), BUT," then talked bad about them? same thing.
