Around here in So. Calif, I've seen some open as early as 0430.

In busy stores it's rare to hire someone younger than 18 simply because it can be a stressful and complex job. It is allowed, though. Generally, depending on the area SBUX pays about 50 cents above minimum wage with a 10% raise after six months.
