I ordered fried chicken with two eggs at denny's once and they both came at the same time. However, the two strips of bacon came later. so we can safely say the chicken came before the pig.

The egg of course.
First of all, no chicken or anything is going to appear out of no where. It had to come from something, the egg.
But where did the egg come from?
More than likely from another animal that evolved into what today is the chicken.
And before that?
It was either God or some nutrients and other stuff created an egg which hatched an animal that later on evolved into a chicken.
Basically, it was the egg that came first.
Anyone wanna prove me wrong?

While the question may seem puzzling at first, the answer is quit simple. It was neither an egg, nor a chicken....but a proto-chicken. Something that was in-between an egg and the modern chicken. Through evolution, it evolved into a chicken and egg thing.

The egg(the chicken egg) contains all the genetic information needed to build one whole perfectly clucking chicken. The chicken, on the other hand has in every one of its cells the gene needed to lay an egg (that includes roosters; the gene is simply deactivated in them). The chicken and the egg are wrapped around each other in a vicious circle they can't escape (until evolution steps in to intervene). And does any circle have a start? None.

If you believe in creationism like most people that are religious do then the chicken came first..
If you believe in Darwinism & evolution (which is a religion all to it's own) then the egg came first..
I personally believe the Chicken came first..

I say the chicken. And I think so because, I think it was brought here to earth by a spaceship. Who ever heard of a wild chicken, I think there would have been no way it would have survived in the wild. Or perhaps the chicken is a man made creature. hummm... in that case the egg.

Obviously eggs existed long before chickens evolved. Birds evolved from reptiles and reptiles lay eggs.So one day thier was a bird,s egg and a chick hatched and that chick was the first chicken to ever exist.
