Yeah, I do wonder what is up with that. Why star the Q if you don't give an answer?

I'm sorry you feel that way, Love. Sometimes, when I'm blue I come here and read the questions and answers without writing anything. I feel like if I cannot lift spirits, why bring them down?

Other times, a question may have many answers already or I cannot offer an appropriate answer. Though I do not answer, I still appreciate the humor, cleverness, depth, compassion, or beauty of certain questions. I feel I should offer a star to show my appreciation.

It never occurred to me that some people might get upset because you liked their question, even if you had no answer to offer.

No sometimes I star just so more people will see the question it only will help you if your looking for answers. Plus I love getting stars. And they may think its a good question they just don't want to offer an opinion

They star because they find the question interesting or funny and like it. Someone may have already have given the answer they would of . I take it as a compliment. It's nice to know people actually read my question even if they don't answer it.

You can't always answer a question. By giving a star, your contacts can read it and might be able to give a good answer. I give stars thinking people would appreciate them.

I do that all the time. It never occured to me that someone would actually get angry that I gave them a star to telI them I LIKED their question. That is what people are doing when they give you a star. It really surprises me that you do not realize that. Oh well, your loss!! Someone takes the time and effort to do something nice and you don't appreciate it. If it seems like I am chewing you out, well I am. I think you owe some people an apology.

i apologize if i've done that to you. it never occurred to me that people wouldn't appreciate getting a star.
when i do that it's because i really liked the question but either i couldn't think of an answer or what i did think of several people already said it.
i'll make a list of who not to do that to anymore.

Not really annoyed but a bit puzzled; why give a star when you won't answer.

No. A *certain* someone stars my questions but doesn't always answer, and it doesn't bother me at all.
