Follow post no.1. BUT it is always best to minimize the use of virtual memory because it is VERY SLOW. Better to increase RAM so that PC is always FAST. 2x512mb is great for XP and 2x1Gb for Vista.

To set the Virtual memory correctly, right click on my computer and select properties. On the first page, the amount of physical memory your computer has will be listed. Click on the advanced tab and select performance settings, then click virtual memory settings. Set the amount, both minimum and maximum the same, to 1.5 times RAM. So if you have 512Mb of RAM you would set the amount to 768Mb.
If your computer keeps telling you it is increasing the VM after that, you have to many things running at once. Shut down what you don't need to stop this notice.

Look for ur Default Drive's property, it seems that it is over crowded and windows has less free space to make temporary files (swap file)

to confirm
goto My computer -> C:\ ( if it ur default drive)-> properties

it will show how much free space do you have

if it is below 500 MB try to move /delete some of the files to your other drives.
