Spain. Because of the brutality of bullfights. A despert animal, already condemned to death, dopped with tranquilizers, a group of Matadors and Piccadors maskerated like in carnaval, and a crowd of blood-thirsty idiots applausing at every sword penetrating the animal...... How pleasant indeed.......

England for sure. Although most people there are 'foreigners' they seemed to have embraced the pastime of whingeing. I escaped in 1959 and have been back a couple of times to be shocked and disgusted by the filthy streets and the aura of decay and apathy that has overtaken what was once a nice place to live. Those residents who are now in their 70's and 80's probably wish that they could have the 'good old days'back. Bloody sad, ain't it !

I'll say England. I'm English but I'm ashamed to be. England likes to think that it's not part of Europe and chooses to allign itself with evil regimes like the USA and other countries which regularly deny their people the same human rights that Europeans are entitled to. The UK also seems in a constant confusion. Wage levels have increased dramatically in the past decade because of higher immigration which has reduced the tax burden and increased productivity yet most English people seem to think these foreigners should go home (ignoring the fact that some half million English people have moved to Spain). I'm glad I left.

Food-wise probably the Czech Republic. I went into a cafe there and the menu was in Czech so I just pointed at something and hoped for the best. When my dish arrived it looked (and tasted) like snot soup. People-wise probably England (I'm actually English myself but I moved to New Zealand a few years ago). Us English love to complain about anything and everything. Plus, have you ever been to London? Everyone is just so angry all the time! I hate the place.

My favourite has got to be France. If you at least make an effort to speak the language then everyone is pretty friendly and the food and drink are pretty yummy too. Then there's the scenery......................oh I could go on for hours about how wonderful I think France is :o)

I've been to a lot of countries in Europe and each had it's pros and cons.

England was the dirtiest. Heaps of garbage and dirt wherever you go and the place stinks terribly.

In Istanbul (Turkey) aggressive salesmen drove me nuts, following me around trying to sell me stuff and not taking no for an answer.

The French were generally rude and cold.

Copenhagen Denmark or Denmark in general. Poland is a lot of fun, France sucks. So does Sweden and I live here. The Danish are so Americanized you will think you are in the U.S. other than the buildings are ancient. The French treat everybody like crap and they stink to high heaven.

Sweden. I was in Uppsala last summer, what a drag. Not only was it cold (and expensive!) but the Swedes just don't talk to each other. Everyone is quiet until 10:00 p.m. comes along and alcohol gives them a reason to communicate with one another.

I've visited all European countries: nice places, monuments, different people, good and less good food, nice and less nice and not nice people. At all places.
But I felt not welcome in Scandinavian countries, surprised by lack of punctuality in Spain, aggressively overcharged in Hungary, cursed in Croatia for having Serbocroatian-Greek travel book (an older edition) with dictionary for visitors.

I liked all da places which I visited.The gondola ride in Venice was'nt dat gud da places where v wenr 2 stank but on da whole it wuz charming.In Paris da ppl r a bit rude if u can't speak french but it wuz a beautiful place.Holland wuz da best place.
