I mean a baby could put together a winning team with that payroll. The fans are such front runners. Most of them are not even from New York. They just buy players from around the league.

You crying tool, Stop complaining about the Yankee payroll, just because your team is run like Nike. Spending as little as they can on the product, while charging as much as they can for tickets. Most people hate companies that are run like that. I bet your team is the baseball equivalent of a sweatshop.
Also, Do you believe that your team losing all the time reflects well on you? Like putting up with a bunch of losers, and aging three years for every season is some sort of character building exercise? Listen to you, bragging how much better you are because your team sucks. I'm a Yankee fan, and I'm a fan because I know that The Yankees will do whatever it takes to bring a championship to NY. Spend what they have to as opposed to picking up second rate talent so the owners can buy a bigger private jet. The Yankees don't always win, but at least I know it's not because they didn't try.
So come October you can cry with your Wal-mart team. Knowing that next year will bring more of the same. our head will be held high.
BTW, I can walk to Yankee Stadium in a little over an hour.

I read your NBA question once, where you said that Garnett trade was a fix. Right then, I knew that you were naive.
I am a new yorker, and i am not a yankees or a mets fan, but even i have to admit that the yanks have been the best franchise, and even if they are not winning as much as they should it doesnt take anything away from them and certainly does not make them a joke. you just sound like a bitter person whose team lost to the yankees, it is typical of people like you to post such questions after the yankees win a game or two.
and by saying 26, its a fan who associates with the team that it becomes a part of his life, and those wins are most definitely for the fans. if it wasnt, they would just play and no one would attend, but a true fan is closely related to his favorite team so saying that they got 26 generally means the entire town which includes the franchise, so be careful when you say that fans got nothing to do with the rings. its ok, you sound really young and you will understand as you grow what it means to be a fan.
and about them buying players, well it is their god given right to spend the money the way they want to spend the money. they can buy anything and anyone as they damn well please, and you, my little friend, got absolutely no business questioning them, specially if you are not even a yankees fan. you should mind your own business and stick to your team, instead of posting such ridiculous questions which do not make sense. you are too young to understand the true nature of baseball, so keep learning, and act sensible. dont act like a clown on yahoo answers.

// your question: from the diaries of a 10 year old who loves baseball cards//
[ you wish you lived in NY. You wish your team had that reputation and wealth to buy the players. But you are a small town jocker with a funny Nickname and Weird Avatar, and you dont have a clue what the word "frontrunner" means.
your question has major flaws. A baby cant put together a diaper, let alone a team.
We buy players, because we can. We don't have the perfect record, no one has a perfect record. If you have money, you buy the best car it can buy. It doesn't mean that it has to be the fastest or the most luxurious car on Earth and it has to give you excellent mpg.
Now if I say 26, you will say it is history. But I will say 26 anyway.
Pay attention to your homework. You wouldn't wanna fail 8th grade. ]]
[[ EDIT: WE THE YANKEES with 26 championship rings.
boy does that hurt your feelings or what. you are too young to be a bitter Tigers fan.
its too late for little kids like you to be awake. all sorts of bad things happen in the wee hours to people of your stature. hush and go sleep ]]

My family moved from 12 miles South of the Canadian Border in NY state to East Tennessee. I was 10 years old. I have a unique position. I understand both sides. Sometimes the tone those Yankees take offends a Southerners genteel manners, and the Yankees really do not realize they are being offensive. If they realize it and then expect you to show them where the good Moonshine comes from -- just tell them that the recipe was lost in the war --- That will cause them to rethink their tone. Peace.

I am a Yankees fan. And no I am not from New York either. Personally I believe that you don't have to be from New York just to be a Yankees fan. In fact where I am from I wouldn't cheer for our baseball team if they paid me to do it, they are just plain boring & even the worst High School team could beat them.

It's called wallet democracy commie boy .Yankees[ and Mets ] fans say that they care so much about having a winning team in NYC that they are willing to pay some of the highest ticket prices in MLB to get one. Maybe if some of the fans in the small markets were willing to dig into their wallets a bit more , their teams could afford better players. But after all it's wallet democracy and the people have spoken and said "No we like our team but not that much "
Go ahead commie boy Do your KC-NYC COLA's Yankee fans will still wind up paying higher ticket prices

I happen to live in New York. So much for myself being called a frontrunner. The Yankees are only doing what any team in their position would do. You are a bigger joke than the Yankees. 26 Championships is no joke.

How come you ask stupid questions on a topic you obviously know nothing about? You have no clue about NY Yankee fans nor do you have a clue about the ballclub. There are Yankee fans all over the country and world. Its because they have been a successful franchise and do whatever it takes to bring a championship back to the fans of NY including spending 200 million dollars.

It had to catch up with them eventually. All those years of trading away their farm system to try and put together an all star team has finally caught up with the Yankees. Because what happens when half of your team goes on the DL? you have to pull people up from the minors... and the yankees have nothing in the minors that's worth bringing up.
You can buy all the big name players you want... that doesn't mean that they'll stay healthy, or that they'll mesh well with the other big name players on the team.
I for one will never be impressed with the Yankees because they are not interested in developing a good baseball team. they're only interested in trying to buy championships. and that my friend... is why they are a joke. it's not about how much money you can throw around... it's about how much you get in return for your money. and the yankees are throwing a lot of it away right now.

Your the only joke I see. If your team won that many world series you brag about their rings too wouldn't you? We're the jokes I don't recall cheering on your team a joke. But whatever you say. If your team had enough money to afford players you wouldn't complain either.
