The physical scars are still there to remind me of the mental scars.

Definitely the mental scars.. the physical ones heal themselves most of the time and then you don't even remember, but the mental....... it takes a long time to get over,because it's with you all day, all night, 24-7.

The mental scars are definitely the most painful ones!The physical scars hurt a little till they heal but the emotional ones can hurt all your life!

I have found that the mental scars are more painful to get over, my ex used to physically and mentally abuse me and the physical scars went away but to this day i still haven't gotten over the mental scars, i can still hear his voice in my head telling me bad things, people can really screw you up.....sucks.

The mental scar could still be raw long after the physical one have healed - it usually is.

Mental. The thing about physical wounds is that they can heal and clear up overtime. After a while, you don't even remember it being there. Mental wounds on the other hand never really go away, because you can always recall them. And when you do, they hurt just as bad as when they were first inflicted. Sometimes, it hurts worse when you think about them.
