This has to do with statistics, with the prediction of life expectancy...or mortality (not morality as one answerer mistook).
These statistics are used by life insurance companies, media people, politicians, etc....

Whatever society deems moral or immoral. Meaning killing a killer is moral by most but the killer himself is not deemed moral.
