Repulicans....lol. Notice how they avoid like heck to deal witht the heart of the question and throw out all sorts of subtrafuge to avoid giving a direct answer that deals with the problem at hand. They dont understand for example that there is a difference between people giving charity and having a society that is compassionate and balanced and that our form of govt is reflective of that. What they seem to advocate is a dog eat dog govt society attitude and allow the individual dogs if they feel like it, if they have enough to do what they can if they want to for those in need. In other words, what we know, they want a society where Bill Gates and those like him came make all their billions and then later on if they wish to make a donation here and there.....while kids go without proper education, the elderly cant pay for their medicines, the working poor cant afford health insurance, and businesses can decide (with Gvt encouragement) to go manufacture goods in communist china

and come back here to the USA and sell them to us. They prefer a societhy where the money our govt has is hoarded not for the purpose of helping its citizens from whom the taxes are derived but to fatten the coffers of the military industrial complex, make illegal warm, and facilitate genocide.

When was the last time the government ran a program that actually did what it was supposed to do without becoming corrupt?
let's set aside all of the people who abuse the system and only concentrate on those who truly need help. How many hoops do these people jump through to get it? When they finally do get it then it's a pittance compared to what they need to live anywhere above the poverty level...if those who are abusers to the system were removed then those who need and deserve it would be able to be given an amount that would actually help them.
Since we all know the government will never fix it's problems, Republicans prefer to give to private charities that if they mismanage the money know they will be cut off from funds. It's not a lack of caring it's a lack of faith that government will handle it properly.

Trying to stabalize a region full of crazies bent on destroying western civilization is not exactly something I think is needless.

And Republicans have no problem helping Americans in need, we give more money to charities and donate blood more often than liberals. What we do have a problem with is supporting people who have no intention of bettering themselves. Just like the parable, "Give a man a fish you feed him for a day, teach the man to fish feed him for life".

edit: I don't think I danced. In fact I think I answered you pretty well. What part don't you understand? The being okay with helping people going through hard times or being against supporting someone for their whole lives? I can put it into smaller words if need be.

And long winded? It was ten lines? How is that long winded? Or is Dr. Seuss to hard a read for you?

It isn't about spending money on people that are really in need. Its about not wanting to have a lifelong job of supporting some people that are too lazy or too sorry to get off their lazy rear ends and support themselves.

Why should my tax money go to support someone that feels they shouldn't have to work and carry their own load?

Why should my tax money be used to support someone that can't feed their own kids, yet continue to have more kids?

We all have seen, or know of someone that really are in need, and most Americans have no problem with taxes going to help them until they can stand on their own again. On the other hand, we al have seen/know some that just won't take responsibility for their own actions and expect Americans to support them.

Republicans spend much more on those in need than Democrats. The Republicans prefer to do it through charities and not the federal government.

Since you have problems understanding long answers, try this: it is probably for the same reason liberals wet their pants when anyone mentions personal responsibility.
