I suggest the following:
Create some simple graphs and charts, based on things you can ask your classmates; such as how many brothers and sisters they have; what kinds of pets they have; how far away from school they live, or how tall they are. Then construct some graphs and charts based on such data. Bar graphs, pie charts etc.
