Do people answer questions as they would if asked in real life or do they hide behind their Avatars and act out another personality?

hmmn, I must admit I forgot about the people for whom this is real life.
Perhaps to them the question should be "How real are you in the freaky outside world as opposed to on YA?" :P

Well I can't speak for everyone, but I do answer a lot of questions in here, and I'm "Very Real" and "Very Genuine"
AND I wouldn't lie, or mis lead anyone....
I have a hard nuff time just being me so to hide behind anything or any other avatars, or to be someone I am not,,,,,,,or cannot be..... Is totally out of my mind set, ,,,,,

It's me, I was suprised that my avatar has almost the same hairdo as I do, so I look a lot like it, but that's about it. Read my little profile and it's pretty much myself summed up. However, there are things that I say that would be harder for me to really admit if I were in person. I'd just think it if it was too true and a bit harsh

Not joking around. (for once) I think a little of both. Strangely enough I'm less sarcastic on here than in "the world". Besides that, my "Avatar" is me, if I was going to hide behind something (like we do on the side of the road for a pee stop) I'd have the truck "front and center."

People tell me that I act different online than I do in real life.
Maybe it's because I type faster than I talk or the rush of instant aiming with multiple people. Whatever the case, I still act differently ONLINE than real life, but on yahoo Q/A I act the same as I do when I'm doing things online. xP

I know I answer in the same way. I don't need to hide.
what I do think is that $mitty, Chester M and Skinhead Charlie do hide behind their avatars and am pretty sure they wouldn't be giving the same kind of answers in their daily lives.

Im pretty much the same love a good laugh. But online im prob a lil cheekier than norm cos i find peeps in my real life dont bring this side of me out so well.

Really, you can pretty much tell, I hope, when I'm joking, somewhat serious, dead serious, playing along or when I'm clueless or combining all into one. I'm a nice person though, really.
