yes, it was the WORST,
my friends set me up on it - i was about 22
i met this guy (lucky we had another couple with us I knew) and we head off to a restaurant - ok start I thought
he looked like Shaggy from Scooby Doo - but sometimes that can be cute - so I thought, let's give it a go.
Off to the restaurant, we were looking at the menu and he said "do you mind just ordering something not too expensive",
hmmmm, I wasn't too impressed - ok I said (I never pick the most expensive anyway - I am thoughtful of stuff like that).
then we ordered the food. We finished and he got his wallet out and said, "Oh, I can't pay for you". I didn't mind and paid for myself (it would have been nicer if he'd asked at the beginning did I mind splitting the bill)
We walked out after and the path there was these paving stones, my heel on my shoe got stuck between two stones and jammed - the others kept walking - I called out to them all I was stuck - my two friends came back an dhelped me out but Mr Shaggy just stared. what a loser.
I pretended I wasn't feeling well and went home - he had the nerve to actually ring me a couple of days later - I never went out with him again....... then, the funny thing is - he went to uni with my husband and they knew each other and he married one of my friends - he is a lot better now - quite normal - glad I didn't pursue that though!

I was extremely skeptical about going on a blind date. Especially since the guy I was set up with had just lost his girlfriend to cancer. Needless to say, I had a good time. But in the end, he admitted that he wasn't ready for a relationship just yet. I'm glad it worked out the way it did because about a year after we went out, I found out that he loved to frequent strip bars! Yuck! He was a co-worker of my friend and he would always ask about me. She told him that I got married and he finally caught the hint.
I would do it again, but I would tell my friend to make sure she had better details about the guy first before trying to set me up again. You just never know, you might meet Prince Charming, but beware, he might be a toad!
Best wishes!

I went on one when I was much younger. He was very attractive and nice. He was from out of town so I was just his date while he was in town. I had a good experience so i would do it again.
I can't believe that you date worked at teh braille institute. That should have given you a clue that it may not go well. LOL

Yes, I have, several times. The one man I ended up marrying three years later. The other fizzled, but hey, it happens. Never let your sister arrange your blind dates.

Yes. It was awkward. He had been told it was my birthday so he arrived with roses and a teddy bear.
As soon as I saw the teddy bear I knew we would never work.
