there are 5280 feet in a mile, each one tenth of a mile is 528 feet. Two tenths would be 1056 feet and three tenths is 1584 feet. So 1650 feet is just a little over three tenths by 66 feet.

let's see. A mile is 5280. So, 1/10 of a mile is 528. so divide 1650 by 528. and you get that 1650 is 3.125 tenths of a mile. or just 3/10 of a mile.

Or that could all just be bull. I tried...

0.3125
3.125 tenths = 3 1/8 tenths

1650 ft = 1650/5280 mile
= 0.3125 miles
= 3.125 (0.10 miles)
= 3.125 10ths of a mile
