Don't you think people would vote more if they thought when they gave a thumbs up the person got a point?

I know they can get an extra point for best anwer but why not when people are giving thumbs ups or thumbs down. Why do people get mad if they get a thumbs down? It's really saying the person thinks it doesn't relate to the answer. I always used to give everyone a thumbs up so they could get a point and now I just quit voting at all it just seems useless!!

yup that would actually make the funny or super smart people get the extra credit they deserve as well.
And you should get 2 points for each star as well :/

It does seem kind of useless.

I answered a question and got a thumbs down. I checked and my answer was correct. I didn't get it. (the question was what boy band was Justin Timberlake in. I answered 'NSync. I got a thumbs down, so I did a search and found out I was correct - so why the thumbs down?)

I do give thumbs down when someone asks a question and the answer is "who cares?;" then i do give the answer a thumbs down of course.

I always give thumbs ups, or down, whichever an answer deserves in my opinion,most get ups...But you..I'm not ganna help you by giving you an extra point if you can't do the same for others.

thumbs up only count as points when the answer is picked as best,

and it only counts up to 50.....

so if you give me a thumbs up for this answer i will not get a point till its picked(if at all) as best answer....
