Helium, as far as we know, isn't dangerous. It is a noble gas - so you don't have to worry about any chemical reaction between noble gas and your blood.

But you can die from breathing in pure Helium - for example, when you are trying to emulate Donald Duck - for the simple reason that you are not getting enough oxygen.

Helium, with oxygen, is fine and in fact, sea-divers usually carry tanks that contain a mixture of helium and oxygen rather than normal air (78% nitrogen, 21 % oxygen) to prevent a painful condition called the 'bends'.

yes if pure since helium is not oxygen, but helium alone does not seem dangerous. So ,if you have enough oxygen , no problem

can you die from holding your breath too

no you will pass out and the breath air again and be ok
unless you strap the tank to you face lol
