Say if China, being communist, decided they didnt like the American government and decided to invade in order to "save" them from great evil. Say, if Chinese soldiers were in every street, every city with tanks, military vehicles and soldiers armed with guns. Say if you were walking by and you looked at one of them and they started yelling at you in Chinese and then, when you couldn't understand them, they would yell louder and louder then gun you down because yo didn't obey them. Say, if they were gunning down innocent women and children in the streets and it was YOUR children. Say, if Chinese soldiers broke into your house, raped your wife and stole from your home. Say, if they started taking over the government and now bringing in Communism. HOW WOULD YOU DEFEND YOUR COUNTRY? WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

This is what it is like for the Iraqi's. The Chinese could invade on the judgement that the US was full of Nukes and weapons of mass destruction (which it is). This is the example of America

This is what it is like for the Iraqi's they are not animals who must be slaughtered. Think if it was YOU in that position? You couldn't speak Chinese so you can't fight them with "words" because they just don't care.

What would you do? Put yourself in that position stated. What would you do to defend your country be foreign occupation?

Anyone asks how or where I get my facts,
1. They are hiding the fact that they are wrong
2. There is a new invention called the "News. BBC?"
3. Stay on topic anyone who does not is clearly saying "I would do the same thing but I dont want innocent people to look good!"

Yes, China can get over to the US, the military is shot just like Iraq's and they have the most people than any country in the world, in a few more years, they can do it. Also, I am comparing what it is like to the Iraq civillians point of view, their families are getting shot and all that and the US laugh about it. The reason why no one wants to answer what they would do is because they would act just the same in the Iraq point of view, they would retaliate in any way.

Let us assume for a minute that China can get over here with enough men and troops to do as you say. Unless they nuke us first, they will be invading a nation with 300 Million people, 200 Million guns, 3 trillion rounds of ammo, over 100 Million cars and who knows how many motorcycles, private airplanes, off road vehicles and bicycles. I doubt they would even get off the beaches or much distance from the airports.

You definitely would not see Americans killing each other instead of the Chinese troops. For that reason, comparing
your story to Iraq is lame and kind of thinking you expect from a sophomore.

Yes, they do attack the "invaders" in Iraq but more often than not, they attack each other. They blow up mosques and as far as I know, there are no Americans there when they do it. Killing your own people is a pretty stupid way to drive out invaders. And if the USA pulls out (cuts and runs) like the Liberals want, the blood bath will have no restraint and Iraq will fall into a war that will be over only when one side has wiped out the other. Is that what you really want?

I believe that there is a substantial British presence in Iraq. Matter of fact, the British invented Iraq, but that's another matter.

There was no great objection to the overthrow of the previous Iraqi government. However, given the reaction of everyone, which was to start shooting each other and steal everything in sight, it is clear that we had proceeded on the assumption that Iraqis were ordinary grown-up people, which apparently they weren't.

Were the US invaded, our first impulse would not be to start murdering everyone in the next town. Bodies of people from Indiana would not start piling up on the borders of Illinois. Hispanics would be fighting along with blacks and whites, as we've done in past wars. We wouldn't be running death squads.

The Iraqis apparently see things differently.

I doubt there would be much I could do other than getting shot. I'm not very good at fighting and don't know anything about guns. The best I could do if my family were attacked would be to try and slow the soldiers down enough so that my family could run away. I'd probably go for the running option anyway seeing as if you gave me a gun I would be likely to panic and shoot more of my own people than theirs.

In the first place this is a lot of schoolboy theories. When I was just 17 , seventeen, I was a flag waver, along with my buddies in school. I and five of my first cousins, my buddies, about seven of us, all enlisted. This wasn't good enough for me, being a competitor.
I went Airborne and, joined the Rangers, I wanted to be "one of the best" I found myself in "Nam at eighteen years old fighting for my life in the Northern Highlands of the Hmong.

I had to see for myself the atrocities that were being committed. For two years I grew up to be another ten years old, that's what it seemed like. I am not condoning war but, I did my best to try and stop the degrading of a people for humanity, if nothing else and, the slaughter against them.

I was spit upon by "hippies" who had no idea what was going on over there, My father called me a "baby killer" after I remember helping to carry out the children of a burning school the enemy locked them up, and lit it up with torches to stop us and, show us what they were capable of.

I was finally sent home, much older and with scars both physical and mental but, I was proud of doing what I did. I didn't have to ask myself "what have I done for my country"

If China did that then the rest of the world wouldn't notice any difference to America's foreign policy. In fact it would probably take the rest of the world a few years to realise anything had changed. You guys are just as bad. Forcing people to accept democracy or else. And then when they do if they elect the wrong party you ignore the elections anyway.

Sure, we should have left Saddam in power...

But then, who is crying for the ONE MILLION dead from the Iran-Iraq war he started?

And what about the lives lost with his invasion of Kuwait, which to his death he never conceded was not his?

Or what about the FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND of his OWN people - dead at the hand of his ruthless Bathist party?

And what about an entire country in starving, with such a wealth of natural resources too, whilst Saddam builds his 13th Palace.

Did you know all schoolbooks were written with great, fantastical stories of the great leader - Saddam. Smell of Kim Jong Ill?

And that every THIRD BRICK in the palaces has his name engraved on it?

So, this, to you, sounds like someone we should have left alone?

Oh, go on, we should have let him be, until he started a third war, and gave him the three-strike-rule?

Sure China has its problems too, but nothing on the scale as Iraq, and as someone who worked in China, learned some of the language, and nearly married one of them, I believe I have a good perspective on the subject.

Take yourself outside, and shoot yourself.

Like I say to any Iraqi living in UK, slagging off the government about our army out their trying to put their home country right.

I'd gladly pay for their flight in order for them to voice off their opinion on the streets of Baghdad.

We wouldn't have to defend ourselves if our agressors are the scum who invade our country with diplomatic immunity visas, immigrants and political asylum families

an excellent, well thought out metaphor.

I don't think it exactly reflects the Iraq situation but I hope people take it on board and think about it.

I'd like to offer the famous speech by Col. Tim Collins as further food for thought which he gave on the eve of the invasion.

“ We go to liberate not to conquer. We will not fly our flags in their country. We are entering Iraq to free a people and the only flag which will be flown in that ancient land is their own.

Show respect for them.

There are some who are alive at this moment who will not be alive shortly. Those who do not wish to go on that journey, we will not send. As for the others I expect you to rock their world. Wipe them out if that is what they choose. But if you are ferocious in battle remember to be magnanimous in victory.

Iraq is steeped in history. It is the site of the Garden of Eden, of the Great Flood and the birthplace of Abraham. Tread lightly there. You will see things that no man could pay to see and you will have to go a long way to find a more decent, generous and upright people than the Iraqis. You will be embarrassed by their hospitality even though they have nothing. Don't treat them as refugees for they are in their own country. Their children will be poor, in years to come they will know that the light of liberation in their lives was brought by you.

If there are casualties of war then remember that when they woke up and got dressed in the morning they did not plan to die this day. Allow them dignity in death. Bury them properly and mark their graves.

It is my foremost intention to bring every single one of you out alive but there may be people among us who will not see the end of this campaign. We will put them in their sleeping bags and send them back. There will be no time for sorrow.

The enemy should be in no doubt that we are his nemesis and that we are bringing about his rightful destruction. There are many regional commanders who have stains on their souls and they are stoking the fires of hell for Saddam. He and his forces will be destroyed by this coalition for what they have done. As they die they will know their deeds have brought them to this place. Show them no pity.

It is a big step to take another human life. It is not to be done lightly. I know of men who have taken life needlessly in other conflicts, I can assure you they live with the Mark of Cain upon them. If someone surrenders to you then remember they have that right in international law and ensure that one day they go home to their family.

The ones who wish to fight,

...well, we aim to please.

If you harm the regiment or its history by over-enthusiasm in killing or in cowardice, know it is your family who will suffer. You will be shunned unless your conduct is of the highest for your deeds will follow you down through history. We will bring shame on neither our uniform or our nation.

...Our business now is north."
