Wow, you really have no opinion if you either aren't a Vietnamese who lived through the war or an American soldier who fought for the freedom of countless Vietnamese citizens.
I lived through it. My parents were killed in concentration camps, my sisters were raped, and also killed. I was stripped of everything I had. They burned down our homes. They made all of us suffer. I was heartbroken that the Americans broke their promise to us. They left us in chaos and pandemonium. Nevertheless, I'm still grateful for those American soldiers who tried to fight for us. The war was almost won, no matter how much the liberals twisted their stories of their "unpopular" war. The Americans would have won, sparing the lives of millions more of Vietnamese who were killed by the Communists after the war. Then the Americans wouldn't have had to come back home with rocks being thrown at them and getting spat on.
So I take in offense to your comment about "Nobody thinks the war ended too soon only because that was far from the truth. Now the Communists claim they won the war the Americans were about to win. I was nine when I saw my brothers join the Americans and fight for our freedom. Three of them are dead. But they died bravely, protecting their country, exactly the way they wanted to go.
I can say I'm also disgusted on how the reporters in these articles are interviewing the the northern veterans, our enemy, on how they felt of the war in Vietnam, trying to make their responses speak for the rest of Vietnam. That is purely disgusting, and I have never trusted the media since the war ended. If you are really a knowledgeable person, do your own research at the library and not looking at biased news articles posted on the internet.
There's a Vietnamese saying that says People only see what they want to see, but never see what's really there. Don't be like those people.

And where was scary Kerry? He started on a cargo ship, well away from the war. Seeing the end was close and his ship being slated for a decommission, he elected to chooses his next assignment. He was thinking of his future, got on the swift boat. Got a couple of scratches and then came back home and complained of doing his job! His political future was set, he was now a true liberal, getting paid to do a job, and working harder to get out doing it, unlike the men and women that gave their all for their job and country. I do not dis respect John Kerry, was there, I just did not like they way he acted after and then during the election. Like the news media, he pump it up to make it sound more sensational than it was. This is a reason I don't watch the news. In 2008, I wold like to see an old fashion election. The candidates debating more, speaking of their idea of the direction the country should lead. Quit talking to the people as if were idiots. Stop telling each American what they want to hear just to get a vote. There is only 2 Americans, one that is and one that want to be. We are not white, black, brown or yellow. We are Americans, we want our government to protect us, not provide for us, we can do that ourselves. We should not hate others for any reason, we should only see other as different, that is not bad. Our candidates should not mock each other, but support each other, after all, aren't they Americans too? And buy they way, act more mature in you question and you might get better answers. As far as President Bush military enlistment goes, I was a reservist and missed the Gulf War because my company was not activated. It happens, get over it.

I practically fell on the floor when Bush said that the slaughter in Cambodia was a diredt result of our premature pull-out.
Jesus, that man is either the most brass-balled liar in history or a real fool.
The North Vietnamese army...well, by then the communist Vietnamese army....INVADED Cambodia in 1979 to STOP the Khymer Rouge slaughter!!!!
Bush sure plays fast and loose with the truth!

Meh. It's only a rhetorical move to try to draw some kind of analogy between the two wars and thus rationalize our staying in Iraq for longer and longer and longer. Because, you know, if we had only stayed in Vietnam forever, we could've fixed everything! I rather doubt anyone actually feels that way about Vietnam, but talking or pretending to reminisce about it in that way makes for useful pro-Iraq-war rhetoric.

Considering the drugs and booze George must have been doing around that time, it's no wonder his memory is so bad.
His words are an insult to the US vets who fought in that war. His ignorance of history will condemn him and those who follow him to repeat that failure.

Hmm, how come nobody was outraged while the left was comparing the War in Iraq to Viet Nam War for the last four years?
And nothing convinces me more that we were so wrong than a guy, Vu Huy Trieu, who fought against U.S. troops in Viet Nam, probably killed Vietnamese citizens in Saigon in 1975, and helped send others to "Re-Education Camps".
Edit: Okay, so Bush says it's Viet Nam=OUTRAGE they're nothing alike. But then you say the War in Iraq is just like Viet Nam. What?!?!

about the same as anyone else's reaction is, to nearly anything Bush says to rally his dwindling supporters....
either hysterical laughter, or red faced anger and disbelief.

Feel free to live there if you don't like it here, I'd be glad to see you and your clones leaving our once great country. You've all warped our constitution and way of life for long enough. Bon voyage!
