In some parts of the world, "dame" is frequently used. (In the Commonwealth.)
Here's one word the others haven't mentioned: SHEILA. Used in Oz and NZ.
Scotland: Lassie. Did the others mention that...? What about Maiden...?
WENCH... used in a derogatory context.
